This article provides an overview of some of the major tourist destinations in the Algarve region of Portugal. With its sub-tropical climate and sandy beaches, the algarve is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe.
Albufeira is considered by many to be a young persons destination, but there is plenty for older people and families to do, and the resort is much quieter away from the main summer season. The beaches are fantastic, and in the evening head for the Old Town and The Strip (the sea front area). There are plenty of restaurants and bars along the strip, but the prices here are generally higher than away from the sea front. Read more »

You may have an image of the Algarve in your head that is one of a typical tourist hotspot, with nothing more to offer than beaches and the sea. While it is certainly true that the Algarve does have an abundance of this to offer, (it is a coastal region) it also has a great deal to offer by way of activities, therefore making it a popular destination, which attracts more and more tourists every year.
